The IDMAs are in, and once again Joel is among the nominees. This year, after 12 months of extensive international touring in 2011, deadmau5 is up for Best North American and Best Global DJ. His label mau5trap is also up for its first IDMA nomination; having been put forward for Best Global Record Label, a timely gesture as it currently enjoys iTunes and beatport chart success with Moguai’s “Mpire” album. Rihanna and deadmau5 headlines charity gig in LA

Taken from rollingstone.com: “Roc Nation and Three Six Zero Group are teaming up to present a charity concert featuring performances from Rihanna, deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

Joel facebooked: “all proceeds will benefit the Children’s Orthopaedic Center and The Mark Taper–Johnny Mercer Artists Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. :)”

Tickets for the event will go for $1000 each, and will go on sale today at 5 p.m. PT. The bill will also include sets by Chris Lake and Michael Woods, but given that this show will be taking place on the same night as the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, there’s some possibility that other stars may turn up, either on stage or in the audience.

2012 JUNO Awards

On Sunday April 1st, deadmau5 will be performing at Canada’s 2012 JUNO Awards. The show will be broadcast live from Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place and will also see performances from Blue Rodeo, City and Colour and Feist. Last year deadmau5 won “Best Dance Recording” for sofi needs a ladder.

As usual, the last 7 days in the world of deadmau5 have been far from quiet. Indeed, flights leaving 3 huge shows and some baby monsters in South Africa, north bound to the middle east; Doha and Abu Dhabi, the next cities to encounter the mau5 in full effect.

Once finished, it was back to LA, to “GET SHIT DONE“. Within 48hrs, Joel managed to:

Play at the VGAs, get a signature on his arm from Shigeru Miyamoto, have said signature “permanently etched” to said arm, send management on wild goose chase after his PS Vita, meet a PartyPanda, swoop into Palladium to see Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso’s show, hang with friends Steve Duda and SeaNanners, oh and wrestle with Hulk Hogan. Never a dull day for the mau5.

Raise Your Weapon has been nominated for Best Dance Recording, 4×4=12 for Best Dance/Electronica Album and his reworking of Foo Fighters Rope for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. deadmau5 fills the streets!

Last night Joel and Nokia created one of the biggest product launches London has ever seen. The streets facing Millbank Tower on both the North and South side of the Thames filled with spectators, and at 9pm GMT it all began. As you may have read on deadmau5′ Facebook, there were a few issues on the night, but now it’s all over, sit back and enjoy a brief sample of some of the most stunning audio / visuals to hit London’s skyline.

This one-off event on Monday, 28th November will see deadmau5 perform in front of London’s iconic Millbank Tower to a backdrop of spectacular 3D projections on the full length of the 120 metre building! The show will be streamed in full at 9pm GMT / 4pm EST / 1pm PST at live.deadmau5.com. For everyone in London, the show is free for all and anyone is welcome to come down – you’ll see and hear everything from both the north and south banks of the Thames.
